Magical Blogorail Red - Favorite Photo Spots

Welcome to those of you joining me from My Dreams of Disney and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the Final stop on our Magical Blogorail.

I hope you have been enjoying all of my friends Walt Disney World pictures today! Having all those pictures of your fun in the parks to relive your memories is so important. So says the woman who forgets to take pictures while having fun in the parks - yes I am looking at I thought I would give you some tips to help you remember to take more pictures at the parks so you don't end up like me with few to show from your vacation.

One of my favorite pics from our last vacation. It was taken by our server at Coral Reef.
First take advantage of PhotoPass, you will have great pictures taken by photographers who have the best locations for great pictures and all of your family/group can be together in the shots.

Next, it's ok to use a point and shoot camera and not lug around a DSLR with a big heavy lens. The DSLR can get heavy and bulky and not worth the hassle when taking candid vacation pictures.

Plan a photo excursion early one morning or during nap time for the kids and go take pictures with your "big camera" while things are quiet and slow. You can take detailed shots of your resort or hop on a bus or the Monorail to your favorite park and take pictures of your favorite attractions or park icons. You will be much more relaxed and have better pictures.

Finally, not sure where to take great pictures of your family? Watch for Kodak Photo Spots. They point out great spots to take photos and even provide a look at what photos look like at that location. Isn't it great that they take all the guesswork out of choosing a location.

My wonderful friend Mary from Capturing Magical Memories has brought it to my attention that Kodak does not sponsor the photo spots any longer.  At this time there is no new sponsor, but some of the photo spots are still advertised.  Hopefully Disney will find a new sponsor for these wonderful photo spots. By the way, Mary designed the wonderful new Blogorail Logo at the top of this post, and if you are a digi scrapbooker you have to visit her site!!

Thank you for joining Magical Blogorail Red this month. We will be back Friday, April 19th with an all new theme. Keep checking in with our blogs in between loops to keep up to date with our Disney info, photos and stories. If you are looking for more Disney magic, you can make your way over to The Magical Blogorail website to see all our members and their blogs, as well as all our previous loops.

Here is the map of our Magical Blogorail should you happen to have to make a stop along the way and want to reboard:

Have a Magical Day!!

  1. One of these days, I hope to get into the parks alone with my good camera. I'm always too busy having fun to take good pics.

    1. On my first trip I was an avid scrapbooker so I took lots of pics (before digital), since then not so much. I am ashamed of myself.

  2. Great tips but you made me think, will they take down the kodak signs now that is no longer a partner? I hope they put something in their place.

    1. Mary, you are right Kodak is not longer sponsoring them. I will try to find out if they have a new sponsor. Thanks! Love the new Blogorail logo by the way!!

  3. PhotoPass actually seems to be getting better and better in quality, with extra emphasis on attractions and dining. Still, it's a little expensive for most people which I think affects it's use by more guests.

    1. I agree Bruce, it isn't for penny pinchers for sure.

  4. These are excellent tips!

Now that I've started blogging, I've gotten a lot more conscious of taking pictures on our Disney trips :) But it seems there is truly an endless amount of magical things to photograph, and I love seeing other's shots!

  5. This will be great to keep in mind for when we go on our next trip!!!
