Giving Thanks

Definition of GRATEFUL

a : appreciative of benefits receivedb : expressing gratitude <grateful thanks>

This Thanksgiving week I hope we will all take a moment to be grateful for all of the blessings we have received not only this year but throughout our lives.  As I reflect on my life I am sure there are people I am grateful for that I have never taken the time to thank properly.

Here are a few:

My family, especially my Mom & Dad have made me who I am today. I am so fortunate to have had parents who taught me responsibility and how to love unconditionally.  This will be my second Thanksgiving without my Mom, but I am so thankful we had the opportunity to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday with him a couple of weeks ago.

My brothers & sisters, who are always there for me no matter what I need.  The bond you share with your siblings is so unique and special.  I love the time we spend together laughing and playing games.

My wonderful husband, Mike, who doesn't exactly understand my love of Disney, but is very tolerant of it.  After almost 16 years of marriage I love you more today than the day we got married!!

My kids who continue to amaze me every day.  Ash, you have become such a wonderful wife and mother to Eric and Lexi.  You are so smart and beautiful, but more than that you are an amazing person.  Dakota, you are the smartest most polite teenager ever, I am nothing short of astounded when I watch you play your guitar and sing. Watching you come out of your shell and blossom into a confident and handsome young man makes me more proud than you could ever know, and remember you can do anything you set you mind to!!

My son-in-law who is such a fabulous husband to Ash & father to Lexi.  You are perfect for each other and I could not ask for more for my daughter.

Each and every person who has ever served in our country's military, including my own Papa, Eric and even my boss THANK YOU!!!  It is because of your devotion and service I have the freedom to have a blog, speak my mind and worship as I please.

Military families THANK YOU!! I didn't realize the true sacrifices you make until my own daughter had to tell her husband goodbye less than 8 weeks after giving birth to Lexi.  You become single parents while your soldiers serve in harms way and have to be ready to move at the drop of hat.  Children have to celebrate birthdays, Christmas and graduations without their parents. My respect for all of you is immense!!

A very special thank you to all of you for reading my blog whether you are a regular visitor  or this is your first visit.  Thanks so much for taking  your valuable time to visit, it means the world to me!!  I have said many times I think of all of my Disney friends as a family.  I mean that, and I have met some incredible people over the last year since I started  my blog.  I love my Disney brothers & sisters and I am very grateful for each and every one of you.

I have three members of my Disney family I want to call out in particular, Lisa and Stuart, thanks for allowing me to be a part of the WDW Fan Zone, and Beth thank so much for allowing me to be a member of the Magical Blogorail.  All of you have made this year so special for me by giving me the opportunity to share my love of Disney to a larger audience.  You are some of the sweetest most supportive people I have ever met and I am so honored to call you friend!!

I would love to know what all of you are thankful for this Thanksgiving?   Please don't forget to tell those you love how grateful you are for them this week.  It's not about turkey & dressing it's about sharing time with those you love!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
Donna Kay
