Creative Disney Inspiration...UP

Sometimes in life it's the little things that touch you the most.  To say that the last 10 days or so for my family have been trying is an understatement.  We spoke with my mother-in-law from the nursing home on Thursday evening and she was spry with a list of things for us to bring her the next week.  Friday morning Mike got a call at 8:00 to come to the hospital, her condition had deteriorated.  By Tuesday he was signing papers to take her off of the ventilator and yesterday was her memorial.

Over the weekend Ashley posted on Facebook how UP always made her cry, and I responded with how I think Ellie and Carl is one of the greatest love stories ever told.  One of my favorite parts of the movie is where Carl is looking at the scrapbook and he finds where Ellie told him to go make new adventures of his own.

Later I got a note from my hubby and had to smile, because he's not a Disney/Pixar person like me.  I loved it and decided to frame it and used a frame we got from his mother's house when she had to go to the nursing home.

While a simple framed note like this one doesn't fit into everyone's decor it is fun for an UP party.  In fact you could make your own Adventure Book and add pictures your family adventures.  Maybe some day, if you are deemed worthy, the biggest honor of all may be bestowed upon you, the Ellie Badge.

Hope you have enjoyed this 9th installment of Creative Disney Inspiration, as always if you make any of the projects please share them on the Disney Donna Kay Facebook page. I would love to see them!!

Have a Magical Day!!

  1. I'm so sorry to hear about your mother in law. I just found your blog so I'm not sure if she's been sick but regardless prayers for your family.
I love the movie "Up". Carl has a special place in my heart because he looks exactly like my grandpa. What a sweet husband you have!

  2. Hi Nicole! Thanks for the prayers, she lived a long and wonderful life (she was 81)but the past few months she had definitely gone down hill. When I saw UP advertised I wasn't interested, I'm glad I decided to sit down and watch it, I love it!! It's so sweet that Carl reminds you of your grandpa, I hope it always brings joy to your heart and a smile to your face.
