At times I have thought, why do I do this anyway? It takes time away from my family, keeping up with all of the social networking stresses me out, and I don't make money from it.
I am a believer in karma, fate, signs from God, whatever you want to call it. This morning I got my (almost) daily email from the SITS girls site and the title was "How Blogging Gives Back." I really believe there was divine intervention, I needed to be reminded that blogging has it's rewards, especially when you are totally overwhelmed and don't know where you are going to find the time to do it.
Here is what I am taking away from their post today:
- Disney Donna Kay (DDK) has brought some wonderful people into my life, especially through the Magical Blogorail and WDW Fan Zone. I am truly blessed to have them in my life.
- DDK has given me Disney Party Boards which I love working on with Ashley each week. It is great to share a project with someone you love.
- DDK has shown me a love for Disney history. Before DDK I loved the movies and the parks, but I now have a love for researching the Disney family and company and learning what (and who) brought them to where they are today.
- Most importantly, DDK has given me a creative outlet to share my love of all things Disney. It's too easy to forget why you started blogging in the first place.
I challenge all of you to write a post just because you want to write it, don't over analyze it and worry if it's what your readers are looking for. Take the time to do it for yourself and rediscover the reason you started your blog in the first place. You may be surprised how much everyone else loves it too.
Have a Magical Day!!
