Magical Blogorail Special Edition - 24 Hours WDW Style

Welcome to those of you joining me from Disney On Wheels and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Final stop on our Magical Blogorail.

Leap Day, an extra 24 hours given to you to do whatever you want, and I can't think of a better place to spend it than at the Happiest Place On Earth!!

I awake to the sound of Mickey's voice telling me it's time to "Rise and Shine" and start this very special day.  It's a girls trip with my sisters, daughter and nieces. It's One More Disney Day for the Daniels girls, I hope Walt Disney World can handle it.

We arrive at Magic Kingdom ready for the special rope drop ceremony at 6:00am.  Disney Magic fills the air as a massive crowd of Disney Fans gather to celebrate Leap Day with people who "get it".  After our special greeting from Mickey and Minnie, the fun begins.

We really want to take it all in and take our time to stroll down Main Street gazing at Cinderella Castle in the distance.  That's the moment you're filled with that "We are really here!" feeling, and isn't it the most amazing feeling in the world??

The smells from Main Street Bakery fill the air, and I smile thinking about the last time I stopped in for the best cinnamon rolls on the planet.  We window shop all the while making mental notes of things we want to be sure to purchase later, but for now we make our way to Adventureland and your "must ride" Prates of the Caribbean.

Faye has never ridden POC, and that makes it all the more important that we ride.  We pick up Fast Passes for and hurry over to Jungle Cruise for a ride full of lame jokes from our skipper, but lame jokes have never been more fun than they are on the Jungle Cruise!!

Now it's time to use our Fast Passes and experience Pirates of the Caribbean.  As we walk through the winding queue we are are secretly thinking "I wish the real Johnny Depp would raise up to peep out of that barrel!"  Then we are there ready to board our boat and our adventure begins.

After our quick visit to Tortuga, dodging cannon balls and singing "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a Pirate's Life for Me" at the top of our lungs, it's off to Frontierland and Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain.  Of course we have to stop at the stockade and take a few pictures before we visit one of my favorites The Haunted Mansion...

Sorry, I just got bolted back to reality. I am here in Troy Alabama on Leap Day, spending it with Mike  & Dakota after a long day at work.  While I am very jealous of my friends who have the opportunity to visit WDW today, I will make the best of it.  I plan on cooking spaghetti for dinner and watching Lady and the Tramp with my two favorite guys (checking the computer for tweets and status updates often so that I can live vicariously through all of you!).

How will you celebrate Disney today?

  2. Sounds like a great day to me! We did Lady and the Tramp and spaghetti and meatballs last weekend. I should have saved it for today! It never occurred to me to do something for dinner here that is Disney related. What was I thinking?? By the way, PotC is my favorite attraction, and I too always wish Johnny Depp just may make a special appearance! :-)

    1. Love Pirates but have to be faithful to my Peter Pan as a favorite. Johnny could convince me to change my mind though. ;) Love to add a little Disney to every day if I can!!
