Did You Know...

Did you know that the first Mickey Mouse comic strip was published in the New York Mirror and other Randolph Hearst-owned newspapers on January 13, 1930?  It was based on the cartoon short Plane Crazy and was written by Walt Disney, drawn by Ub Iwerks and inked by Win Smith.

Floyd Gottfredson took the comic strip over in May of 1930 on a temporary basis, his first daily strip was published in newspapers on his 25th birthday, May 5, 1930.  His temporary position lasted for the next 45 years.
