We miss you Walt!!

I have been feeling a little blue all day today, not sick or bad just a little down.  I couldn't really put my finger on it, something was just not exactly right.  Maybe my subconscious was trying to tell me that today marks the 45th anniversary of a very poignant day in a Disney history. At 9:35am on December 15, 1966 Walter Elias Disney died of acute circulatory collapse. (Here is the offical Disney obituary from the New York Times.)

I think Walt saw a lot of himself in Mickey, and a lot of Mickey in himself, so for me as long as we have Mickey Mouse, a part of Walt will always live on.
"The life and ventures of Mickey Mouse have been closely bound up with my own personal and professional life. It is understandable that I should have sentimental attachment for the little personage who played so big a part in the course of Disney Productions and has been so happily accepted as an amusing friend wherever films are shown around the world. He still speaks for me and I still speak for him." - Walt Disney

Walter Elias Disney, you are very much remembered, and very much loved - Rest In Peace.
