Integrity - Disney Blog Hop

Hi! Thanks for coming to visit Disney Donna Kay today! I am sure a lot of you are here from the Disney Blog Hop hosted by Lisa of Babes In Disneyland. I really look forward to this blog hop each week, thanks for hosting it Lisa. This week Lisa, along with her friends Suz and Marcy (the three of them make up The Three Disneyland Moms) challenged us to take the Three Disneyland Moms Pledge. I have taken the pledge, and today the Disney Blog Hop topic is What Integrity Means To Me.

The dictionary defines integrity this way:

in·teg·ri·ty  audio  (n-tgr-t) KEY

NOUN:
  1. Steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code.
  2. The state of being unimpaired; soundness.
  3. The quality or condition of being whole or undivided; completeness.
I like to think I have blogged with integrity from the beginning, and I am naive enough to think everyone would too. I have been hopping along today and commenting on may of the post about my opinion that the Disney Blogging Community is a family. I come from a very close knit family, my sisters are my best friends. I now have my Disney sisters to add to that group, and supportive big brothers whom I adore (although I am probably old than you guys). I don't call people family lightly, it truly comes from my heart. My interactions with my fellow Disney Bloggers have been very positive, much in the way Disney is portrayed in everything it does from movies to theme parks. It has been a community that is honest, compassionate, generous and kind.  It is beyond my comprehension someone who loves Disney enough to blog about it would deliberately post false information. I am sure it has happened, but I would like to think that would be a rare occurrence.

Walt Disney was a man of integrity. One of my must reads each week is reading "Wednesdays With Walt" on Chip and Company. Brenda Kentworthy does a fantastic job with this series, and with her permission here is a link to her post from March 23, 2011. It really says a lot about Walt Disney, his integrity, and his respect for his employees.

On a final note, I think integrity goes hand in hand with respect.  I try to have a true respect for each and every person who takes the time to read one of my posts. It is out of respect for you and myself I promise to Blog With Integrity.

Have a Magical Day!!
Donna Kay

  1. Beautiful! I have only witnessed support and respect from Disney bloggers, and do believe it is because true Disney fans are themselves unique. We believe that Fantasyland really does exist in each of us!
Meeting people like you, Donna, has been the BEST part of blogging.

  6. Brenda, I love reading and learning about Walt so much. Your Wednrsdays With Walt are something I read then go back and read again. He was definitely a man wise beyond his years, and I think he would have loved seeing all of the blogs that started because of a mouse. Thanks for allowing me to link to your article.

  7. Then I guess I am naive too because I write my posts with truth and honesty too. I have taken the pledge and wanted to say that I am very honored and happy to call you my friend, I love your series of MM and though it was a great idea from the beginning. Sharing ideas and helping support those who are just starting. This is a great group and I'm honored to be among them..

  12. Well said Donna Kay! I'm loving the hope this week! Everyone is writing amazing posts! :D I love the bit at the end about respect ... the two words totally go hand in hand! Since I started reading your work, you've always blogged with integrity every time! :D

  13. I love the way you put this. It is truly important for us to always remember what Walt would want for his name. We just simply would not be in Disney business if we did not blog with integrity. I too hope that I have done him justice from the beginning.
