Disney Blog Hop - Why I Love Disney

Happy Disney Blog Hop Day!! Welcome to all of you stopping by from the  Disney Blog Hop hosted by Lisa of Babes in Disneyland , I am very happy to have you here.  This week the theme is Why I Love Disney...

"Adults are only kids grown up anyway."  Walt Disney

If you follow me on Twitter, you already know I love Walt's quotes. He was an amazing man who was brilliant, yet never over thought things. I love his attitude, his optimism, his outlook on life. When he created Disneyland, and later began to make plans for Walt Disney World, he wanted to create a place that would appeal to children and adults alike.  I would say he was pretty successful looking at all of us who blog about Disney today.

The thing I love most about Disney is that it transcends time. Let's face it we all become children again when we enter the parks. We are guilty of doing things there that would embarrass  us in the "real world." Mouse Ears anyone? I love a Disney movie and will watch them anytime I catch one on TV. I laugh, I cry and I am reminded of a valuable life lesson most of the time. The classic Disney movies, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, ect. have been entertaining us since my mother was a little girl (and I will be 48 tomorrow). The movies have never been changed or updated, they are just as they were all those years ago. Yet they are still relevant, and will continue to stand the test of time. I must have watched Cinderella 1000's of times with Ashley and cannot wait to watch 1000's more with Lexi, and I am quite sure she will be watching with her grandchildren some day.

What would Walt Disney World be without Cinderella Castle or Disneyland without Sleeping Beauty Castle? The castles are icons of Disney parks around the world, they just wouldn't be Disney without them.  You already know I love Peter Pan's Flight , it's just as much fun today as it was when the parks opened.  Soon Fantasyland will open and the new classics will be showcased in the parks. I can't wait to see Beast's Castle, Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid and the new Princess Fairytale Hall!

It's ironic, everyone thought Walt Disney was crazy when he had a dream of building an amusement park that the entire family would love. Now there's Disney parks all over the world, and Walt Disney World is the most popular vacation destination in the world.  I think Walt could have the last laugh, but knowing Walt, he would never do that.  As a matter of fact, that happens to make me love and respect him all the more. Thanks for your dreams, imagination and foresight Walt! Your ingenuity has given us the most magical vacation spots in the world!
