Mentoring Mondays - A Little Help From My Friends

Hi everyone!! First of all I really want to thank all of you for your support of Mentoring Monday. I hope you have all been learning as much as I have. I really enjoy bringing it to you each week, and I have made lots of new friends through this venture. I wish there were words to express my gratitude for each of you that visits each Monday, and for each of the fabulous bloggers who have contributed.

My goal with Mentoring Mondays is to make sure all of us live up to our potential. If we all work together we will all be better. That being said, I would love to know what you think of Mentoring Mondays.  The good, the bad and the ugly.  In the Mentoring Mondays by JL Knopp, she gave us a piece of advice I am taking to heart. This blog is published by me, but really it belongs to all of us. I have to bring you what you are looking for each week to get you to return. You can leave a comment here or you can email me at disneydonnakay@yahoo.com with your comments or suggestions.

I would also like to know what advice has been the most valuable to you. Have you put any of it into practice and seen any results? I will also add, all of the Mentoring Mondays are worth a second read.  It's kind of like watching a movie for the second time, you see something you may have missed before.

I have a few things in the works to make Mentoring Mondays better.  I plan on focusing on one topic each week. For instance, one week we will look at photography and give tips on how to take better pictures and choosing the best ones for your blog. Another week we will focus on finding your niche, or the best ways to do contests and give-aways. If there is a topic you are interested in or would like to contribute about, please let me know. By the way, if you think this is an awful idea I would love to know that too.

I am sending all of you virtual {HUGS} and big THANK YOUS for supporting Mentoring Mondays!!Have a Magical Day!!!
Donna

Now, I am going to post my piece of advice and will add yours with a link to your blogs as you send them. Please contribute, even if you have already been featured on Mentoring Mondays. Everyone has something they can share, I can't wait to see what you can all teach me!

1.  Remember you are representing your blog whenever you post something on a social networking site. Think about the language you are using, and the image you are projecting to current and potential readers.

2. Take the time to read over your entry before you post it. Even if you use spell check you can still have the wrong word typed, or even have incorrect grammar. Who cares? Potential book publishers, the people who make decisions concerning the Disney Moms Panel, or someone who may like for you to contribute to their blog.

Great advice!! I love the idea of topics! I can always use help with tips for taking photographs, how to do a giveaway, how to send email updates to followers to subscribe, how to create banners, buttons, etc. I'd also love to learn how ...to make my blog more appealing visually for cheap or free! :) I don't want to spend a lot of money (that I don't have!) to get my blog looking the way I want... but I have no idea how to start this process. Example- how in the world do people add thier twitter/ facebook links in the shape of Mickey's head?!!? Maybe I just need to learn how to use photoshop...

enough rambling!

I LOVE what you do for all of us Donna Kay! I'm glad we are friends!

Great advice Donna Kay! I have really loved all the Mentoring Monday Interviews and have taken a little bit from all of them, from ways to keep organized, making posts visually appealing with my photos, and so much more. I'm not sure if you want me to post this here, but did you ever consider setting up a page for Mentoring Mondays that has everyone of your interviews in one place for readers?

I love the idea of focusing one one topic each week. I think you will (like always) be offering such a great resource for all of us bloggers.

Keep up the great work, Donna Kay!

Great advice, Donna Kay! I really love the idea of having different topics each week as well. I too, could use advice with give aways. I was just thinking about that the other day and wondering how to go about it. Can't wait to see what you come up with! :)

HI Donna Kay,
I have really enjoyed all the interviews and have learned a lot especially about making my blog better. I have taken the advice of trying to post something new everyday to keep readers coming back. I also think it's important to use correct spelling and grammar because I'm just a pain like that. LOL.
I would love to get more info on how to do different pages, I liked that idea from Beth and how do you get those Mickey shaped heads? I was wondering that too, (other) Beth.
I am so new to blogging, I have learned a lot from others and still need more- pictures especially. Like how do you get your name on them and is it really necessary?
Thanks again for all you do---Diane

Terrific advice Donna Kay! I enjoy reading Mentoring Mondays and have tried to use the pointers I've learned. I love the idea of a weekly topic!

Great advice as always :)

I love all of your interviews and so appreciate the time you and your interview subjects put in to each week. I'm so new to blogging on my personal blog that I know there's a ton more to learn but it's tough to point out what since so much is undiscovered yet (at least in my case).
