Disney Dads Blog Hop

I guess I need to add my own post here huh? As I told you all yesterday, I come from a large family and we are all very affectionate people. We definitely got that from my Mom, my Papa isn’t one to say “I Love You.” But, you know he does without question. Papa isn’t a Disney person at all, but he would do anything for Ashley. She & I lived in Pensacola, FL for about 3 years or so. My Dad missed her like crazy, he would come down and visit just to spend time with her. Well, being away from home at Christmas time was really hard on us, we were really homesick. I’ve posted before about buying a full size Christmas tree and putting it in front of the window at the hotel and decorating it all in Disney. Well, that tree was “home” for both Ashley & myself.  In September when I got to move back home Ash & I moved in with my parents. Christmas came around and we just assumed that we would have my parents traditional tree. Papa knew how much Ash loved the tree and what it meant to her. He insisted we put up the tree in their living room and all of my family celebrated around that tree that meant so much to Ash & myself. It’s probably not that big of gesture to most of you, but it was a really big deal to us.  That tree goes up in my home every year. I have given some of the ornaments to Ashley and she has them in her home to share with Lexi and Eric. That tree is really a symbol of home to both of us, and it is so much more special because of the year all of the Daniels family got to celebrate around it. Papa will be 80 years old at Christmas time this year. We are so lucky to still have him. All your Baby Girls love you more  than anything – Donna Kay, Ashley & Lexi.
